Subject: [OT-PD List - AOTA] - Sad News from the NYU OT Community
Dear all
I write with a very heavy heart to let you know that Dr. Jim Hinojosa, Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at NYU died yesterday, August 6th, 2018. He put up a long fight with multiple health issues
but always persevered in his teaching, mentoring, writing and scholarship. That was Jim. He epitomizes what would be a gentle man and a scholar. As many of you know and experienced, his love and service to the profession knew no bounds. Jim left behind such
a legacy through his writings, teachings, and the many students that were lucky enough to call him mentor, many of whom may be on this listserv. That is all part of such a wonderful legacy he left the OT community. He was named one of the top 100 influential
OTs at the centennial celebration of our profession, and we at NYU OT were lucky to call him friend, colleague and family. We will be holding a celebration of his life at NYU early this fall and will let you know the details as they are available.
Sincerely
Kristie Patten Koenig on behalf of the entire NYU OT Faculty and Staff
