Greetings, program directors.  I hoped to say goodbye in person in Las
Vegas but was unable to attend.  I have decided to retire in December.
Quick update: my treatments and medical procedures have gone extremely
well.  My family and I are looking forward to a full recovery.

Dr. Carole Ivey has been serving as the Department's Interim Chair
since I started my medical leave last December.  She will continue in
that role until a new PD/Chair is recruited or appointed.  I'm
confident you'll offer her all the support you've given me these past
10 years.  I have enjoyed working with the leaders and members of the
Academic Leadership Council and wish you the very best in the future.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion this past year.
