We are considering something like this.
The chair will remain the OT Program Director - retaining responsibility for budget and faculty evaluations - but will delegate the compliance duties to a a faculty member who will receive work release for these duties

Subject: [OT-PD List - AOTA] - chair versus program director?

Hello all,
My school is considering splitting the jobs of OT Department Chair and OT Program Director, and assigning each role to different person, versus the way we have done it the last 20 years, with one person serving as both the director and chair. I would like to know if anyone has done that, and if so how they have proceeded to assign responsibilities in such a way as to remain in compliance with ACOTE Standards? I have already checked with ACOTE and they referred me to the standards which describe the program director responsibilities ( A.2.4), and they are basically the same as those of department chairs at my institution. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you can offer.
