We had this a few years ago. The student was given a special mask because she really wanted to take part in the process.

Hi Folks,

We have a freshman student that is severely allergic to the fumes with the biology lab dissections. In the sophomore year we teach OT 256 Human Anatomy with cadavers. Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Can you recommend a specific digital human anatomy book and/or program?

Thanks for your assistance, Carol.

Hi All,

Interestingly, this actually happened to me when I was a student. I was provided a mask and protective clothing, which seemed to attenuate the effects of the fumes. Click the link below to find best recommendations for respiratory protective equipment and other protective measures. Similar to protective equipment in a clinical setting, it looks like the PAPR is a front-runner. I know for certain that this is not the mask that worked for me at the time.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) formaldehyde standard:

Hope this helps-
